The University of Toronto has always been a home to many brilliant students whose education has been impacted by changing political environments in their country of current or future study.
Given the ongoing #war in Eastern Europe, we expect an influx of displaced students from war zones, seeking to continue their education in Canada. To welcome these students, U of T has recently announced a $1-million matching #fund for donations supporting displaced students from #Ukraine along with emergency aid to current students from Ukraine who are affected by the war. Current students whose financial circumstances have been affected because of this crisis can also benefit from the #Emergency_Grants program. There are also a number of ongoing conversations between the faculties in response to this situation and how this will impact students' ability to make their tuition payments and complete their studies.
As always, we at the University of Toronto are doing our best to help all current and prospective students affected by the ongoing crisis in Eastern Europe. It is also our shared responsibility to ensure similar opportunities are available to all students who are living in the darkness of war anywhere around the globe regardless of their religion, ethnicity, race, and nationality.
